I’m really not good at word golf. You know, the game where you take a word like “mare,” and change it letter by letter to “dark,” like so: mare – dare – dark.
That’s a pretty easy example. There’s a famous one from Nabokov’s “Pale Fire,” which is lass-male in four. I remember my professor explaining that one in class, but I’ve totally forgotten it by now. Anyway, I am horrible at word golf. I’m still trying to solve dreams-smile.
